Missionaries Provide Faith and Fun at Easter Egg Hunt
On a day that seemed more like the beginning of winter than spring, children from all over the community came to share in the joy of Christ’s resurrection by coloring eggs, playing games and receiving food for their families. Thanks to the missionary volunteers, some children were able to participate in their first Easter egg hunt.  One little girl came up to me and said, “In my country we never had an Easter egg hunt. It’s so much fun!” 

This new tradition was not without its moments, however.  When asked to hide the eggs in preparation for the egg hunt, one boy from Mexico actually buried them completely.  When I saw what he was doing I laughed and said, “That’s a little too hidden”.  When I asked him where all of the eggs he had buried were, he replied, “I am not sure I can remember!”  We both laughed.  Despite this learning experience children joyfully searched for over 400 eggs and the day was a great day to rejoice and give thanks for children young and old alike.  All of these children are sponsored in our Passport to Hope Program which has been such a blessing for the families we serve.
